Case Study: Let Them Hear Foundation – Born of a vision by a renowned Otolaryngologist to make a difference in the lives of children and adults with hearing difficulties, The Foundation was created in 2003. One of the board first decisions was to hire D’Alessandro to establish a development office and create a fund raising strategy that would sustain The Foundation for the first initial years of growth. Proper planning led to an initial commitment of $750,000 and the establishment of strong leadership. In 2003, an international symposium was sponsored along with funding for an overseas mission trip. The Foundation began its travels across the globe to bring hearing miracles to those who traditionally do not have access to this advanced medical technology. In conjunction with the surgeons at the California Ear Institute, medical and audiological teams have traveled to Costa Rica, Peru, India, China and Myanmar to help educate and establish hearing aid and cochlear implant programs in combination with local professionals.
